Pre-requisites:
You'll need to download these files and softwares in order to root your Asus Zenfone 5.

- USB Data Cable (You'll have one)
- Windows PC (Linux won't work!)

The Main Procedure To Root Asus Zenfone 5 Kitkat:
1. Download the Intel USB Drivers for Zenfone 5 from the above given links and Install them.
2. Below are some screenshots while installing Intel USB Drivers.
3. Once you have successfully installed the USB drivers, connect your zenfone 5 to pc using USB data cable.
4. Make Sure that "USB Debugging" is turned on in your device's developer options.
5. If not, go to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Information -> Tap Build Number 7 times to unlock Developer Options.
6. Now in developer options check the box that says "USB Debugging".
7. When you connect your zenfone 5 to pc, you'll be prompted to allow USB Debugging in your device. Click OK.
8. Now, extract the "Root Zenfone 5 Kitkat V2" file which you have downloaded earlier.
9. Right Click "files" folder while holding shift and select "Open Command Window here".
10. Now in the command window, type adb devices to check whether your device is successfully connected to your pc or not.
11. If your device is connected to your pc, then you'll see it listed in the command prompt window.
12. Now in your device, go to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Information. There you can see your device's model under build number tab. It looks something like ASUS_00J_WW_user....
13. So, from there you can identify that your device model is WW. Other versions are TW and CHT.
14. Now in your pc, go to "Root Zenfone 5 V2" and double click Root-ZenFone5-ww, which is a batch file.
15. Now the rooting process of zenfone 5 has been started, your phone will reboot several times during this process, this is quiet common don't panic.
16. This is the last reboot screen in the batch file.
17. When you see the message "All done, enjoy your ROOTED Zenfone 5" in the command prompt, check your phone's app drawer.
18. You should see SuperSU flashed on your device. Now download "Root Checker" app from play store to check whether your Asus zenfone 5 is rooted or not.
